As Christians we often ask ourselves what does it mean to truly know God and to walk with Him? In our focus text this week John writes to the church towards the end of apostolic period to remind them of an important aspect of knowing God, that is to remain in the knowledge and obedience to His commandments; the greatest of these being to love another. In order to continue walking in the light individually and as a community of believers we need to be encouraged by Jesus' example. To know God is to love one another.
